MAXIMISE STORAGE WITH DYNAMIC RACKING SOLUTIONS

Wide aisle racking is a highly versatile and adaptable storage system for optimal inventory capacity.

Operational efficiency and ease of access are essential when configuring warehouse space to increase storage density by up to 40%. Wide aisle racking is a popular unit that provides a versatile and modular storage system, offering clear and direct navigational access to loading points for standard forklift trucks. Its seamless design establishes rapid inventory retrieval, optimised stock rotation and ensures replenishment is swift and efficient to meet the demands of high-turnover environments.

Engineered and constructed from reinforced steel, this racking type delivers exceptional performance without added complexity, supporting loads up to 5,000kg per level. Wide aisle racking is adaptable to configure a variety of storage requirements in a simplified yet durable unit, accommodating the adjustment of beams for a variety of products.

Wide Aisle Racking:

Aisle Width: 3 to 4 metres

Handling Equipment: Standard counterbalance truck

UNRESTRICTED ACCESS WITH WIDE AISLE RACKING

Industrial wide aisle racking allows for the use of conventional forklift trucks for rapid loading and unloading.

Wide aisle racking accommodates both manual handling and forklift operations, providing flexible and dense storage solutions for environments where accessibility and efficient movement of stock are essential. The unit supports a variety of inventory, making it ideal for palletised goods, bulky items, and hand-picked products, following a FIFO (First-In-First-Out) method to support stock rotation in a refined layout.

Wide aisle racking configurations can be tailored to meet individual load requirements, or scale alongside natural business growth and needs across varying heights, bay widths and weight capacities for ongoing storage performance. Wide aisle racking units are designed to make efficient use of vertical capacity and retain floor space, maximising revenue per square metre in a singular cost-effective solution.

Key Applications of Wide Aisle Racking:

  • Warehouses with medium to high turnover
  • Beneficial for large varieties of inventory
  • Storage to accommodate seasonal fluctuations
  • Suitable for both ambient and cold-storage
  • Industries that require direct access via forklift or manual picking
  • Businesses that can reconfigure storage when required

RACKING INSPECTIONS

Inspections are designed to guarantee racking safety and compliance in order to keep businesses operational and functional.

As stated by the Provision and Use of Workplace Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, thorough racking inspections must be conducted on an annual basis. This must be completed by a fully competent individual, such as a SEMA (Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association) trained inspector who will adhere to SEMA guidelines and codes of practice.

Inspectors use a simple traffic light rating system that will classify the level of damage on a racking system. If deemed amber or red, the racking unit must be placed out of operation for immediate repair or replacement. We assist in all levels of inspections, conducting detailed audits that clearly highlight any issues and help maintain safety, compliance and fully operational systems in the workplace.
