Universal Components are an international distributor of truck and commercial vehicle parts. With support from Enterprising Barnsley, Universal Components UK moved to Barnsley and expanded its £30million business to 165,000 sq. ft premises.

Enterprising Barnsley has been supporting Universal Components with their finance and relocation expansion plans. Their new Barnsley premises became Universal’s new advanced logistics facility that has encompassed the company’s head office, call centre and distribution warehouse.

Prodek teamed up with Universal to kit out their brand-new warehouse with a variety of storage systems. The largest offered system was Longspan Shelving to stock light and readily accessible items. 1084No 2400mm clear entry by 750mm locations were installed allowing 600kg UDL per level. To protect all shelving from operated equipment, barriers were installed adjacent to all fork-lift flow routes.
